If you are an existing student, staff, or faculty, you may be wondering how you can acquire a Shoreline College identification card.
Next week, the college will be holding an event allowing anyone who needs an ID card to get one. All that you need is a ctcLink ID number and some form of photo ID. Driver’s licenses and passports are valid.
This will take place at the FOSS Welcome Desk in building 5000, between 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. April 21-23. The college will also offer evening hours between 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. April 21.
Student ID cards offer several other benefits to students. Those include:
- College student discounts at some retail stores, restaurants and entertainment, etc.
- Event access in which student IDs may easily grant access to campus events, such as sporting events, concerts, or theater productions.
- Healthcare services where in some cases, student IDs can be linked to medical services or records and insurance companies making it easier when students go to the hospital.
Physical ID cards are especially important for international students, who would need to carry their passports with them in the community, if they didn’t have the student ID.
It should be easy, so take some time out of your week to get this done if you haven’t already.
