Voice-over Broadcasting Workshop

On May 17, SCC is offering a two-hour long workshop on voice-over broadcasting in commercials, film and videos. This introductory workshop plans to teach students the basics of voiceover work. This includes how to use your voice for different types of media, different ways to get started as a voice-over actor, and how to break into a new field. In addition, students will have the opportunity to record a demo reel to demonstrate their skills.

Lisa Foster, the instructor for the workshop, has over 20 years of experience as a voice-over actor and broadcaster with commercials for several brands and businesses including Olay and Crest toothpaste. She also has experience as a radio personality in Seattle.

The class has a $39 fee and will be held on May 17 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Click here to register or learn more.

Theatrical swordplay

SCC is hosting a three-session class on theatrical swordplay. Over these sessions, students will learn about safety, basic moves and how to choreograph their own fight scenes. This class is taught by Lee Ann Hittenberger, a stage fight choreographer with certifications in 8 weapon styles as well as over two decades of training and experience in theaters and schools along the West Coast. On the last day of class, students will use their newfound knowledge to film scenes.

Swords will be provided, but students should bring their own leather gloves, comfortable clothes and close-toed shoes to move around in.

There is a $79 fee and classes will be held on Tuesday of each week between May 17 and May 31. For more information or to sign up, click here.
