Tasty Toast: Hibiscus Iced Tea

Hibiscus originated in 12th century Asia. In 1960, it was selected as Malaysia’s national flower, symbolizing courage, life and growth.

Hibiscus Tea

Ingredients

  • 4 cups water
  • ¼ cup dried hibiscus flowers
  • 1 lime
  • ¾ cup sugar (optional)

Directions

  1. Boil 2 cups water and add flowers. Squeeze lime juice into water and bring to a simmer for 10 minutes. Add ¾ cup of sugar (optional).
  2. Strain mixture into a pitcher and combine with 2 cups water. Fill to top with ice and serve.
