SCC Board of Trustees Appoints New Acting President

VP Phillip King to assume role in July

SCC’s new acting president has been selected: Phillip King, Vice President for Student Learning, will take on the role effective July 1.
Current President Cheryl Roberts will leave her position June 30, The Ebbtide previously reported.
At a May 28 meeting, the college’s board of trustees appointed King to serve as acting president until an interim president is selected. King is slated to hold the position through Dec. 31.
The board will name an acting vice president to replace King in the next few weeks, according to a June 1 notice posted to the SCC blog Day at a Glance.
“The Board is currently reviewing options for how it will conduct an interim and a permanent presidential search and solicit input from the campus community, with the expectation that a permanent president will be in place by July 1, 2022,” the notice stated.
