The Associated Student Government (ASG) holds board meetings every alternate week on Mondays at 3 p.m. in Room 1010. These meetings are open to the SCC community. Students are encouraged to attend, participate and share their perspectives.

New Business:

The Film and Theater Arts program’s mini-grant for $3,696.03 was approved unanimously. The mini-grant will be used to buy ten microphones. These new microphones will last up to five years. If the microphones are purchased on time, they will be used for this quarter’s performance.

ASG approved the Cambodian Student Club. The Cambodian Student Club will kick off their club with the Water Festival, a traditional Cambodian holiday symbolizing the end of the monsoon season. All students are welcome to learn and immerse themselves in Cambodian culture.

Skateboard and Hip Hop Club was approved by this club and is planning on meeting once or twice a week. Safety is a priority for the club. Once the club gains traction, they intend to work the safety protocols in coordination with Student Life. The club will likely require consent paperwork from participants.

The next ASG meeting is scheduled for Nov. 7.
