ASG in Review: Oct. 11, 2021

The Associated Student Government holds biweekly board meetings from 3-4:30 p.m. each Monday via Zoom. At these meetings, students are encouraged to connect with their representatives and raise concerns.

The ASG Board held their first meeting of the quarter Oct. 11. The Ebbtide reached out to ASG President Sunshine Cheng for a debrief of the meeting’s agenda.

Mini Grants

The ASG will be starting the year with a $100,000 mini grant fund.

The ASG is gearing up to allocate funds for the Services & Activities and Tech programs at SCC. The mini grant fund has financed programs for technology, student programs, staff salaries and personal protective equipment.

SCOF

The Sustainability and Commuter Options Fee committee approved funding for reusable cloth masks. They are currently reviewing a proposal for a bike rental program at SCC.

Motions of the Board

The Board voted to approve the establishment of the Mental Health Awareness Club and five student nominees for Appointment Review Committees.
