We are almost done.
There are only three more weeks to get through for spring break.
Before that, though, we still have to survive finals.
The bright side is that SCC understands how stressful this time is for students, that’s why they have provided BREATHE.
BREATHE is a program, proposed by the director of the Counseling Center, Yvonne Terell-Powell, to help students retain both their physical and mental health in order to make it through the week.
At BREATHE, students are provided with various programs that aim to reduce stress levels, and teach them how to manage stress as well as provide studying techniques.
“We want students to know that we care about their success and well-being, and that we are here to help,” said Gwyn Hoffman-Robinson, one of the school counselors.
Robinson is the lead for BREATHE but the other counselors, and even other departments, are contributing towards this event.
This event has been coordinated by the Counseling Center along with the President’s Office, counseling, the library, many of the science divisions and clubs and various other programs.
Maybe you’ve heard of some of their events: College Dogs, Free Professional Massages, etc. They have been successful in the past and have received great responses from the students who have attended and benefitted from this event.
BREATHE will be held on March 16, but there will be events throughout the whole week to help students. Share the word and help out your fellow tired and stressed out classmates!
