It’s not too late to apply and reserve your seat, but deadlines are approaching quickly. Friday, Jan. 12, is the last day to sign up for the class requirements without instructor approval, and [UPDATE:] Friday, Jan. 19, is the last day to apply for the program. Scholarships remain available for domestic and international students.
The study-away program focusing on the Civil Rights Movement plans to follow a portion of the Freedom Trail that winds its way through Alabama, from Anniston, where the bus of Freedom Riders was attacked and burned by white supremacists, through Birmingham and Selma, to Montgomery, home of the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr.’s Dexter Avenue King Memorial Baptist Church. Students seeking to join professors DuValle Daniel and Brooke Zimmers must sign up for the required classes (at least one):
