On Nov. 8, the ASG reviewed the mini grant budget and approved two new student clubs.

New Business

Mini Grants

Budget and Finance Officer Kate Nguyen opened the meeting with an update on mini grants. The budget currently sits at $100,000.

New Clubs

The ASG reviewed proposals for two new student clubs: TriHex and Pop Dance Society. The board unanimously voted to approve both clubs.

TriHex aims to create opportunities for SCC students to share their interests. TriHex will cultivate a networking atmosphere that offers students with different backgrounds and career goals a chance to collaborate. TriHex invites students who are searching for new things to get excited about to join. In the future, TriHex aspires to form a sister club in Hong Kong that will meet via Zoom.

Pop Dance Society will offer students a chance to learn, choreograph and participate in popular dance styles such as hip-hop, jazz funk, urban dance, K-pop and free-form. Down the road, the club seeks to put on performances curated by its members. Pop Dance Society encourages students who want to express themselves creatively and engage in healthy stress relief to join.
