TAKE ADVANTAGE OF STUDENT EXCLUSIVE DEALS
Going to college isn’t cheap.
The nightmare of financial forms and late-night studying is something all too familiar. However, a number of economic benefits come with being a student. Everyone loves a good bargain, so might as well make the most out of that student ID.
Keep in mind that deals change from time to time. Old ones disappear, new ones pop up. Although the deals here are supposedly available throughout 2018, there’s no guarantee each stores still has the exact same deal.
Also, once 2018 ends, these may be gone. The good news is that there will always be a bargain for students lying around somewhere — the trick is being active and on the lookout for ‘em. Good luck and happy shopping.
Tech Trendies
Microsoft Office
Don’t pay for Microsoft Office products, at least, not as a student. If you’re looking into getting Excel or Powerpoint, Microsoft provides free products for students under the “Office 365 Education” bundle on the SCC website. Once downloaded, it’s all yours — even after graduating. Pretty neat, huh?
Spotify Premium + Hulu + Showtime
Unlimited music streaming? Check. A large collection of movies and TV shows? Check.
For $4.99 per month, this bundle gives you access to all of it.
As a side note, Apple Music’s unlimited streaming service also is $4.99 per month with a student ID. Remember that you only have four years of eligibility for this, but it doesn’t have to be continuous.
Special Mention: T-Mobile offers Netflix for free for those in a family plan with more than two people. Maybe you should stay on your parents’ plan so you don’t lose those cool benefits.

Seattle Scenes
Seattle Repertory Theatre
Students get a discount on single tickets here, so be on the lookout for performance schedules for the season.
A personal recommendation is “In the Heights.” If you’re familiar with Lin-Manuel Miranda from the recent “Hamilton” boom, this is also an award-winning musical he was involved with years beforehand.
Seattle Opera
All the Seattle Opera performances offer a rush program for students, lowering a single ticket price to a mere $25. It may not be the type of entertainment you want every weekend, but operas are definitely a unique experience.
