Ah-ha Moments, An SCC Alum Homecoming : UW transfers return to talk education in retrospect

By Casey Daniels

On Thursday, Feb. 23, some SCC alumni will be returning to tell their tales of college, life, success and ‘ah-ha’ moments.

Simon Walker, Ian Waller and Alexis Chouery completed their undergraduate degrees at the UW Jackson School of International Studies. After seeing the world and working in their fields of study, they’re overjoyed to step foot back onto their old campus and share some of their experiences with SCC students.

“I remember how daunting the process was at times, and I wish I had some tips and tricks from someone that went through it,” Walker said.

Chouery, speaker and former president of SCC’s Worldly Philosopher and Dismal Scientists’ Society economic club, said, “I am excited to be back at Shoreline and [to] give back to the community in whatever way I can. Shoreline CC gave so much to me in ways I didn’t fully realize until I had graduated.”

This event will be hosted from 12:30-1:30 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 23 in the PUB, Room 9208.
