The Shoreline Community College Foundation offers students over 200 scholarships annually. The 2025 / 2026 applications for awards ranging from $1000 to $2500 opened on Jan. 29 and will remain available until Mar. 30.
Students who’ve received scholarships are able to focus on academic goals and worry less about finances. “I received a women’s scholarship [that] was so helpful,” said student Nanami Yoshida.
There are two types of scholarships: financial need and merit-based scholarships. The foundation considers Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or Washington Application for State Financial Aid (WASFA) when reviewing candidates of financial need. Merit-based candidates have their GPA, awards, and extracurricular activities evaluated.
Students are required to fill out a single application that will be “automatically considered for the majority of our available scholarships,” as written on the Shoreline Community College Foundation’s website. All students, including “part-time, international, undocumented, and prospective students,” can apply for the scholarship. If you meet the basic requirements, it’s worth applying here at their website.
The application has eight steps; while students do not need to finish all of them at once thanks to auto-save, it is important to resolve each and every one before the deadline so the application is processed. The message, “You did it! Nothing left to complete. Way to Go,” will indicate completion. Some details of interest include student information, academic information, and extracurricular activities.
“The scholarship will help me with my tuition fee,” shared Kevis Leung, an international student who started her application process early this month. “It is a very straightforward application process. I didn’t have any trouble doing it.”
The foundation encourages students to apply and attend their upcoming info sessions in person or on Zoom to learn more. During these sessions, they will answer questions and provide help with the application process. Students can register to participate through this form.
