This year’s International Education Transfer Fair was held on Oct. 30 at the PUB (Building 9000). The fair featured around 70 different colleges and universities from all over the United States and some foreign nations, ranging from New York to as far as Japan. Each institution promoted their specialties and gave students information on how to transfer to their university.
Miriam Vandalla, an admission counselor at the University of Washington Bothell said “we love to come to events and share information about our beautiful campus so [students] can decide what’s a good fit.”
The hall was filled with students perusing their options. Little snacks and gifts were provided all over the desks for people to take.
“We want them to know that there are a lot of good options for them regionally and all around the country and be able to find a good school,” said Matt, a representative from Portland State University.
“I’m finding [the fair] very enjoyable,” expressed Atanu Bushanob, a first-year student majoring in electrical engineering. “It’s easy to talk with people. Everyone is very helpful.”
Jason, a second-year student majoring in computer science, commented, “I think [the fair] is really good … all the universities that want new international students [are finding them], and international students are finding which university they want.”
