NaNoWriMo Kick-Off Party
Oct. 31; 10 p.m.-2 a.m.
Residence Hall (7000 Building)
Love to write? No plans on Halloween? The fourth-annual National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) Kick-Off Party is back and better than ever, with plans to keep the festivities running late into the night.
Set against the brand-new backdrop of the Residence Hall, costumes are encouraged but not required.
NaNoWriMo is a national challenge dedicated to writing a 50,000-word novel across the span of November. On this night, writing will commence at the stroke of midnight after a lively evening of activities, games and prizes.
Don’t forget your laptop — there will be a giveaway to the first person who hits the word count of 1667 (the daily suggested goal once November hits).
And that’s not all: By popular demand, SCC’s Ray W. Howard library will be open until 9:30 p.m. Mon.-Thurs. all November long in celebration of NaNoWriMo and writers everywhere.
