Three straight playoff bids, three straight playoff losses to Lane Community College.
Women’s soccer made a push for the playoffs, clinching third place in the NWAC North. They traveled to Eugene, OR to face Lane Community College for the third straight year, and for the third straight year they lost to the Lane Titans. The Phins kept the Titans scoreless until the 69th minute, after which Lane forward Erin Riley rattled off three goals in less than ten minutes.
The Phins allowed another goal, losing 4-0 when all was said and done.
Despite its ending, the 2016 season was definitely a success. The team battled injuries all season, rallying to finish third in the division in their first season under coach Josh Cardin.
Shoreline ends 2016 with an 8-5-5 overall record, and 6-4-5 in division play. The team will return eight freshmen on the squad, including Captain Lex Simmons and Careena Alaoui and Madisson Lowdon, who led the team with five goals.
