Dental Hygiene Takes a Backseat
SCC’s plans to implement a Baccalaureate in Applied Science in Dental Hygiene (BAS-DH) have been delayed.
The process was put on hold due to “competing priorities, such as the budget review process,” according to Dean of Health Occupations Mary Burroughs.
The State Board of Education had approved SCC to move forward with the changes in the Dental Hygiene program in May.
“The intent is to begin the work on this very important project next quarter,” Burroughs said.
The college previously hoped to enroll the first class of BAS-DH students by 2021.
