The PSMS 2025 Annual Wild Mushroom Show will be returning to Shoreline’s campus for another exciting weekend. The exhibition will feature a wide variety of fungi, including mushroom tastings, a lecture with chef Chad Hyatt on cooking with mushrooms, and a workshop on cultivating your own oyster mushrooms. Throughout each day, mycologists such as Noah Siegel, Daniel Winkler, and others will give lectures on topics like identify edible fungi of the Pacific Northwest. The Puget Sound Mycological Society (PSMS), which sponsors the event, encourages visitors to bring local mushrooms–including underground parts–from their backyard for identification from mycology experts.
Festivities will take place at Shoreline’s Student Union Building (PUB) on October 25 from noon to 6 p.m. and on October 26 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is $10 for adults, $5 for students with ID, and free for children under 12.
Visitors interested in joining some of the Puget Sound Mycological Society opportunities can stop by the membership table to learn about upcoming classes and field trips. Face masks are strongly encouraged but not required. For more information about the Wild Mushroom Show and its speakers, check PSMS website.
