Creative Writing Workshop

The first of three creative writing workshops led by renowned local artist Anastacia Tolbert. Each workshop will be shaped around one of the stories from SCC’s community read, Octavia’s Brood. Tolbert will be designing these workshops so that students will walk away with a finished product from each one! Participants will have the opportunity to build community through their writing over the three workshops. For more on Anastacia Tolbert, see pg. 8.

Germany’s Perspective on the United States

Frank Wendler is a Visiting Assistant Professor in the Department of Political Science and the Jackson School of International Studies at the University of Washington. He will speak on the future political, economic and military partnership between Europe and the U.S. and the rise of populist politics and anti-immigrant rhetoric in both the U.S. and Europe.

SCC’s award-winning art and literary journal is looking for submissions for the 2017 issue. The art submission deadline is Jan. 31. The literary submission deadline is Feb. 20. Submit all art in pdf (print) file format, all literary submissions in Word (.docx) format. Include your name, title of work, a description of materials used and a brief bio.
